Almost there...........

No, not 10k..... But the 1st August when I will be ready to resume the challenge. I say resume, but it is not entirly true. Although I have had to take things easy since the OP I have of course managed to play very small amounts.

First the update on my health.....
Its been 6 weeks now since the OP and although everything has nearly healed ( the scar on the back keeps oozing at the moment ), the pain remains unchanged. But with my new massage chair which was purchased last week all thanks to my fellow poker friends I find I can again play some poker. I didnt want to start mid way in the month and wanted to wait till the start of the month which I have mentioned before.

I got a call from the GP this week after she had been in touch with my Pain Management, and both were satisfied that I should now be referred to St Guys in London to try a new procedure called a Spinal Cord Stimulation because I was already taking the strongest painkillers along with the highest doseage and still felt the pain to a degree of discomfort. So I was once again worried that this would interfere with a month of my challenge, because I really need the start of a month and be able to play all through that month to take advantage of the rakeback deal. So I phoned St Guys to find out how long these things take because I had no idea on the length of time before I was seen. I was told the referal normally takes 8 weeks to see the Consultant and then if everything is ok, the Op would be done Prob Nov this year give a month or two latest. So at least I know I have some time to play, although the pain is still an Issue, so unsure if I will be able to maintain the tables or the hours I was playing before. I still think 10k hands in the month is very get able for me, but pain levels will for sure play a part.....

So like I said I have been playing, nothing too much though. I played there Promotion this week and managed a €3 cash. All the players who made top 750 all got the same, apart from the winner who received €1250. Played a couple of 50c tournies in the wee hours to pass a bit of time. But today I played the trusty 10c rebuy...... Failed is the word I would use... My timing sucks sometimes..... Getting near the bubble so I put a bit of pressure on and shove the blinds with K3 fully expecting the folds.... Unless SB has KK and BB has AA. OUT I go.... So I think I will try the cash table. Note the table and not tables? Yes just 1 table to try and get my €3 back from a rebuy freeroll tourny part of the promotion which had €1 rebuys and the top 250 all received €20. Off course I had to have the table were no one re bought and thought it fun to call my all in with 10 3 off for there life and me holding KK to see a flop of 33x it got worse, and 3 rebuys later I had enough and left. So wanted my cash back and like I said opened up 1 table and was helped with a nice bluff then flopped the nut flush and someone betting into me...... All good yes it was till the river paired the board and I was forced to pay the value bet off with the boat..... Not to be outdone and somewhat pleased I didnt go bust on that hand I topped up the cash and again I find myself facing a 3 bet before its reached me with 10 10. I take the chance the raiser will just call and not shove so I call the 3 bet and so does he. The flop comes down 10 high with a flush draw. Instant push and call from the other 2. The fact the shove is 8 times the pot didnt seem to bother the caller so you have to think AA V KK or QQ. I am in front and of course I make the call. Turn Q River 2, flush hits but thankfully no one had it. I know the caller had JJ but I dont know what the other player had because it was mucked. I win a €26.60 pot and that puts me over the 1.5 buy in up so I have to leave 2 hands later. I would hate it done to me but rules are rules............ I think its the biggest pot I have won during this challenge and I even managed a punching of the air for my efforts.

I dont know if I will play tomorrow or leave it till the 1st. But I now have a balance of €1421.95. I would post the graphs up, but there still in $ and I have to wait for the upgrade from PT3 in order for the € to replace the $. I might still post a couple of pics of the grind up next month.
